Brilliance and Stupidity!
Hey folks! Just watched 'Yuganiki Okkadu'(YO). Though the movie appeals only to a select audience, the visual grandeur is breathtaking. Considering movies like Magadheera and YO, we are making great progress technically. Kudos to producers like Allu Arvind and Raveendran(produced Tagore, Ghajini) for Magadheera and YO respectively and of course to the real heroes Rajamouli(Magadheera) and Selva Raghavan(7/G, AMAV, YO).
Coming to the point of the post: Before I could bask in the pride of increasing standards in the industry, I happened to go through a debate in the blog of a noted hero's relative, who is a technician himself. He wrote an article comparing records of Magadheera and Adhurs because some people claimed that Adhurs will beat the records of Magadheera. To start with, the comparison itself is a pathetic one as one movie was a periodic film and the other is just another commercial flick. This blogger-cum-producer need not react to such claims, but he did! This opened up a debate in the comments section of the article with fans spilling their boiling blood in the form of comments.
One says Magadheera is purely a technical film and the other says Adhurs is a hit because of Brahmanandam! A third guy chips in: "Pokiri had a dream run of 175 days in 59 centers whereas Magadheera could manage just 3 centers and Pokiri created an all time record with a 4 show houseful run in a theater for 66 days continuously"
Common people like you and me may not understand that a successful movie is the effort of some brilliant minds working together but at least a person inside the industry shouldn't go about spurring debate with his blog. This is when I felt that in our industry, we successfully married Stupidity to Brilliance and we also contribute on a regular basis for their successful married life!

ACI Oh My God!
A project which I cannot care less, GDPI calls which I have to start preparing for(no clue how), travel arrangements which I have a lot to make; these sum up my life since January. Thanks to David Crane and Marta Kauffman for F.R.I.E.N.D.S, which I watched again and killed leisure time (the whole time) in January. I can't stop appreciating David Schwimmer for 'Ross'; he absolutely lived it.
As every other good thing, F.R.I.E.N.D.S came to an end. Thanks to the investment made on TV Tuner and IDEA Netsetter, I have been able to survive this place. Then, I started to explore my external HDD and found Air Crash Investigations (ACI), which I used to watch at college and liked a lot. It is a TV show of Nat Geo, where the whole investigation of an air crash(true incidents) is made by experts and interviews of victims or their families are shown.
There are about 100 episodes in all (not sure). Some of the accidents are so frightening that some people may start avoiding air travel unless it is necessary. There is this accident where the door of the plane and the fuselage attached just rips off and 5 rows of seats are also thrown into space; imagine the kind of death. The part where the door is gone is open and some people are actually without roof. The pilot however manages to land the plane. Whats more disturbing is the interview of the family members of one of the passengers whose seat is thrown into the atmosphere. His father hopes that he fell into the engine and got crushed as it is a faster death rather than falling from that height.
No matter how much the airlines industry learns from the mistakes and rectifies, there is always a chance for human or mechanical error or may be bad weather.

Just downloaded the crash investigation of AIR INDIA flight bombed by sikh terrorists over the Atlantic ocean; will go watch that... you people have a great time :).

My Dream Jobs!
Found this cool concept from my close pal Munaf's blog (refer blogs i follow)and decided to let people know what I really like to do for a living. In the order of priority...
1. DIRECTION: LIGHTS CAMERA ACTION CUT... Movies somehow became a passion to me since my childhood and I consider myself a fanatic. Justification: Everyone I know doesn't like to go to a theater alone and they would rather watch the movie later whereas the probability of finding me alone at a theater is 0.7 (don't sue me if its a bit more or less). You can also find out from any of my friends, the level of involvement from my side while watching a movie :). I consider myself having a good taste(everyone does about themselves ;)) and the long hours of discussion with Rakesh, again a close pal from school, and PVK, my opposite room in college, made me fall in love with the profession. I wrote two full length stories (simple ones) which obviously I wont disclose (you know the patent and all :D). Recently, I directed an advertisement for a project in college on a mobile. The main character, Leela Krishna(college mate), complained that I was too demanding on every detail and compared me to James Cameron (obviously for fun) :D (donno when he worked with Leela :D). So, that's my first choice career and I hope to direct at some point of my life (another reason for you to hang on to me).
2. EDITING: F.R.I.E.N.D.S is my favorite TV series and as soon as I completed watching the last episode, due to the connection with the series, which I saw day and night at a stretch, I downloaded the making video of an episode. It was an awesome video and apart from other departments, like the art, sound etc., the one that really impressed me was the editing department. A very good movie can irritate you if the editor doesn't choose the shots right. It takes patience but its wonderful. You get to decide what the audience view.
3. ENTREPRENEUR: The one with all the risk involved. Who doesn't love to have the power to decide everything in an organization! Its just the risk factor that keeps us away from taking that critical initiative to enter the business world. This is something I know I'll become in my life. "When?" I have no idea.
4. THE PRESIDENT OF INDIA: Representing India globally is not an option to reject. The pride involved, control over the armed forces, apolitical leadership just to name a few. The possibility of finding myself in that post, as you know, is zero but, the title justifies my 4th choice. The low priority to such an honor is because of the fear of failing to perform well, which, is not the case with the above three career choices where a failure is not the end of the world.
